Weed And Hip Hop

Over the last 30 years weed and hip hop have gone hand in hand. The cannabis culture goes very well with the Hip Hop culture.

Starting out in the late 80s ans the early 90s NWA really kicked off the gangster hip hop scene. Their fight against the police grew popularity around North America. Giving the people less fortunate a speech to be heard.

Smoking weed became a thing of norm when the king of hip hop Dr. Dre released his first single debut album called The Chronic. With a Marijuana leaf posted right on the cover, the popularity of Weed grew! Shortly after that he also released The Chronic 2. At the end of the track ‘Next Episode’ they literally say “smoke weed every day” which quickly became a known saying in clubs when the song came on.

Dre’s right hand man Snoop Dogg has become the face of marijuana and virtually every song he ever wrote and every video he ever produced has weed in it. These guys have made it socially exceptable to smoke weed.

Other rappers like Tupac Shakur, Tha Dogg Pound, Nate Dogg, Game, 50 Cent, Bone Thugs n Harmony, Method Man etc are constantly smoking weed in interviews videos and its also a great thing to see that its allowed. Just legalize it already.

I am glad even till this day with rappers like Wiz Khalifa and still SNoop Dogg that nothing has changed.

Bringing me to my point that Marijuana in North America was seen so much on the news tv and was accepted to a point that helped the long road to fully legalizing it.

I made a video of Marijuana and the culture of hip hop come together to help legalize this wonderful flower.

Thank you to all the rappers and hip hop industry leaders. We will smoke with you legally one day!
